Cyborg-Lucario's News

Posted by Cyborg-Lucario - May 21st, 2023

Hello everyone!

It's past the middle of May and I'm happy to have a my insurance but I still would be thankful if people commissioned me since as you may know, being an artist is technically my job (I think there is a certain threshold for how much you need to earn to have people consider it a job).

I do still have a Patreon and if you haven't seen it, some perks you can get like with the highest tier giving you either a line art drawing with no extra cost or 50% on any other drawing.

Like you would save €10 on a fully coloured with two characters in it.

I have had the thought of making a new donation drive through Ko-fi but I'm not sure if I should be using one of my own characters or one from a franchise that I like, and also, I'm not sure I got the charisma to get people interested in donating for the goal to get a new computer, but do you have any suggestions?

And work can get slow as I still haven’t finished the script for a one-shot comic featuring my Pokémon characters and part of that is due to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Man, this game is really great even though I have only gotten to finish one of the dungeons but that's because of the side quests and everything you can find by exploring (makes me wish that Game Freak could have gotten help from a studio like Monolith Soft when it came to open worlds), not to mention finding the titular tears.

And it might be an early game spoiler but Rauru is hot!

I hope anyone who's playing it is also having a good time.

Until next time, see ya!

After three years of work practice (which shouldn't have taken that long if it wasn't for the pandemic) I finally got my insurance approved by the Swedish Social Insurance company, now I don't have to worry about the ones at the commune giving me less money because of commission money or simple transfer between friends and family.

Admittedly, even though I'm happy to have a proper income I can't exactly take pride in how it's difficult for me to get a job since (I may not have said it before) I have a hard time focusing a lot of times, gets distracted and I'm not the best planner.

But hey, I'm happy that it got approved before my birthday, which is (as of the writing of this journal) in five days.

I don't ask for much, and IT'S JUST A SUGGESTION but if you want you can check my Throne wishlist for things you could gift me:

https://throne.com/alexis_strype/wishlist

Or you may draw for me if you got the time. Which is just simply another suggestion because birthdays and Christmas is the only times I will ask for art because those times are special and I wish to commission others if I want art, which I hope that I can do soon, but also while saving for a computer.

But honestly, do whatever you feel like. Just saying happy birthday is good enough.

And I do want to make it clear for the third time that it's just a suggestion since I don't want to put people through the same things I have been going through, even if those were in private.

I honestly wish that I could say no easier no matter whatever excuse those asking me for free art may have.

Even though I got my insurance approved, I still need to get money to make sure I can pay for my bills, and I would say its quite urgent: https://ko-fi.com/cyborglucario

You can either commission me or just donate on my Ko-fi.

If you have read all the way through, how are you doing? I hope you're doing well.

How do you do? I'm doing fine, despite the fact that I still got bills to pay and as you may have seen in my gallery I got a new price list and if you’re able to commission me, then I would be very thankful if you sent me a note (if you got me on Discord, feel free to contact me over there).

I'm also planning on making a shorter comic featuring Cyborg-Lucario and friends, and I'm close to finishing one of the new characters that will appear in it, however, they and any other of the characters who will first appear in that comic will probably only be posted for everyone outside of Patreon to see once the first few pages are done but in the meanwhile, please support me on Patreon if you really care for my art (also because I still haven’t managed to get a job (and it would be good to have more people who could vote on Patreon polls)): https://www.patreon.com/CyborgLucario

I do hope to watch the Super Mario Bros. movie, but it's a bit hard to be watching movies at the cinema, not only because of the bills I need to pay but as you’re probably aware no matter where you live that tickets are getting more expensive, I’m just glad the cinema in my city haven’t implemented the stupid ban of taking your own snacks and drinks with you.

I may be doing most of my status updates on Twitter, but it's good to be making sure I can tell people here how I'm doing and if you did read this journal, please leave a comment and I hope nothing bad is gonna happen (or worse than it already is).

An unexpected bill came. I really do not need those!

Some commissions may help.

Or if you rather want to support me on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/CyborgLucario

And in other news, I'm slowly reworking my Discord server and compiling my projects to make it easier for others to follow.

It's been a while I made a bigger journal entry and I can't say that a lot has happened since I'm still waiting for confirmation about my insurance and I also feel that I don’t have a lot to talk about since I don't have the resources to continue working with Heavenly Kyuubi or get back into streaming. I also wish to try and do other stuff with a computer like trying to develop a game, but I can’t promise much about that for now.

I just want to be sure, how many are interested in reading the Heavenly Kyuubi pilot comic when it comes out despite how long it has been since I worked on it?

And you might also be aware of it (and may be why you're not interested in my journals) but I'm trying to make my Patreon into something more than a glorified tipping jar, since I haven’t found a job that works for me it would be good for me to have a form of secondary income and I think I'm doing well with it and I hope you may consider supporting me on that site considering how I don't always have the time to do commission work (but commissions can still be nice).

And another thing I plan on doing when I get the computer and access to the files is to post the first chapter of Magus Doe on Newgrounds to let everyone see the start of it for free and maybe be interested in buying the other chapters. I also hope to get some feedback and maybe I'll get the motivation to continue with that story again.

Who knows what will happen, but I really hope that I will get my insurance and maybe I will get extra amount of cash which can help me get a computer (because I doubt that I will get anything back in tax returns this year, I'm j6st glad that I won't have to pay for any from what I have seen) and start working as soon as I can on those stuff.

But in the meanwhile I have resumed work on Journey of the Gnoll Queen which includes fixing grammatical mistakes I did in orevious chapters.

If nothing else I hope that you will all have be doing your best and until next time, see ya!

I made a new poll on Patreon for my supporters to help me out with future drawings. Feel free to join and take part to:

So far this year it's going well, but I hope things can get better this year. I didn't manage to buy a new computer last year and while it's good that got a tablet that I can browse the internet on and draw digitally but I would still like to buy a new computer since I won't be able to finish the Heavenly Kyuubi pilot comic.

I have no idea how long that will take, but I really hope Ibcan get it, because not only do I want to finish the comic, but I also want to get back to streaming again.

On a lesser news, I did update my Patreon by changing the currency for pledges/subscriptions from American dollars to euros and edited the description for each tier.

If you want to help me out being able to save up for a computer (in case I can't get the funds any other way), or help out with bills.

You can find my Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/CyborgLucario

If nothing else, I hope you're all having a good day and see ya!

Hello there. It's now New Years Eve and time for reflection and let me say that 2022 has been a rough year for me as at the start of the year I had problems with priorities and as someone who's brain makes me focus more on work or taking care of myself, I don't always take the initiative to start conversations with friends, which may have caused issues that should have been avoided.

Later when spring started I began to work on the pilot comic for Heavenly Kyuubi and the scripting actually went well and motivation was great, but later I got to be part of a friendship test by an irl friend that for some reason went on longer than anticipated due to certain factors and took away time that we all could use for other things, like my comic and designing characters for another friend's own project.

I somehow went on despite my other friends telling me that I shouldn't go through something that just exhaust, takes time, and receiving little positive feedback in comparison to bashing and being told I wasted my time with my drawings until I finally told them that I quit.

Sure, it might have been due to a reactive action of someone I had to tell that they shouldn't feel bad since they still have respect for me even though I haven't hung around with them for a long time now.

But despite the respect I still couldn't keep the computer I was borrowing which I had until I could afford a new one of my own.

And so, months went and I even started a few donation drives to buy a tablet to finally colour my drawings again. I also got to with the help of an administrator of the organisation that helps me out to get my life on tract with getting a stable economy and possibly a job, to sign up to get fundings to buy a new computer (and possibly a graphic tablet like a Wacom or Huion) which I would likely be getting around the 13th December.

Unfortunately... as the year is ending soon I never got it and have to try again next year, and I won't be able to finish the Heavenly Kyuubi comic until I have one.

It may be hard to please everyone and it's a lesson I seem to need to relearn a lot of times, but for those who still choose to be my friends and support me despite my flaws and I hope that next year will be better and that I will be able to make a difference.

Of course, there was also all the wordly problems going around that made it hard for everyone. Let's make the future better alright?

I know it's kind of late for an update journal, but it feels like I could talk about these now.

First off, I managed to buy a tablet two weeks ago on a Singles Day Sale, but when I got it, they sent me the wrong tablet meaning I had to call costumer service to return it and now I'm awaiting for it again.

I have also been raising the prices for my commissions again due to the economy in Sweden and how expensive food is getting, as well as expenses I really need to take care of.

You can see the new prices here (will make a new graphic sheet once I got the new computer): https://ko-fi.com/cyborglucario/commissions

But in other news, the latest visit to the doctor went really well and according to him, all the papers and documents regarding my periods at work training shows without a doubt that while I'm not incompetent that I still have issues on getting started on things at work (which also happens at home sometimes).

I will hopefully be able to get a stable income soon, though I'm still well aware that having a job that works for me would give me an even more stable income, but hey, one step at a time (even if one of the steps took a lot of time).

Let's hope that will work out for me this time.

And December is fast approaching as well, so I hope the rest of November will work out for you all and until next time, see ya!

UPDATE: Forgot to mention yesterday, but I got The correct tablet yesterday afternoon, hours after writing the journal. So far I like it, look forward to coloured drawings soon!

Well, I'm trying out a new option for clients to commission me.

Also includes new prices to test the grounds a little, which I'm doing because of the economic state of our world (at least in Europe).

I haven't put any new prices on flat colours or colours with shading due to the fact I still haven't gotten a tablet (I'm waiting on Black Friday for that), but I will update those prices when it gets active.

https://ko-fi.com/cyborglucario/commissions

I hope to make a new price sheet too since I don't know how many are reading journals.
